SHILAI by Terra Tempo

China
in its own time

SHILAI (pronounced shih-LYE) takes its name from the Chinese shí lái (时来), evoking the arrival of the right time. A place reveals different things at different times of year, and our own pace and interests change too. SHILAI brings these two truths together in journeys through China shaped by seasonal change, local knowledge and time spent with people who know the place well. Terra Tempo designs and delivers each journey. DVGO lets you adapt the dates, pace and experiences to make it your own.

Sep 23 – Nov 6

After the Autumn Equinox, chillies and corn dry against the white walls and dark roofs of Jiangxi’s villages. The kilns and studios of Jingdezhen are busy, while cooler air clears the mountain paths at Longhu and Sanqing.
